1979: Revolution in Iran, 2nd ed.

Critically acclaimed, 1979 is the only hobby-game covering Iran's 20th century where Iranians control events rather than be a tangent to the Cold War of the US-USSR. 1979 is a card-driven game with a unique feature: each turn players draft the cards in their hand, so that there is no chance of the two sides having unbalanced cards. Success in the game depends on manipulating/persuading the multitude of factions within Iranian politics, from the mullahs to the merchants, as well as whether the Royalist player comes to rely too much on foreign aid and the secret police (SAVAK). 1979 comes with a history booklet providing an overview of the cards/events and a discussion of Iran's turbulent years from 1953-1979.
